Industrial Fuel Oils
Sprague serves a wide variety of industrial-based customers with a range of industrial fuel oils, including #4, #5, or #6 oils.
- Density, or API gravity
- Viscosity (#4 oil the lightest fuel, to #6 oil the heaviest)
- Sulfur (We offer a wide range of sulfur levels from 0.5% to 2.0%)
Sprague industrial customers include:
- Power plants
- Paper mills
- Textile mills
- Heavy manufacturing
Sulfur levels are generally a function of the entity’s air permit, which regulates onsite air emissions.
Most industrial customers choose to purchase fuel oil on a delivered basis. Sprague contracts for freight and delivers the fuel to the customer’s tank. The freight is generally included in the price of the fuel, providing the customer with a “one-stop shop” experience. To increase flexibility in offerings to industrial customers, Sprague offers several possible pricing methods. These can include:
- Daily rack price offering
- Indexed price
- Fixed forward pricing
- Combination of fixed and indexed pricing
In addition to the above price offerings, Sprague works one-on-one with industrial customers to provide tailor-made supply / price agreements.
